Getting to the Bassins des Lumières
By road
A10 then rocade A630/E5/E606. Go out sortie 4 « Zone Industrielle Blanquefort, Bordeaux-Nord ». Continue on Boulevard Alfred Daney, the Base sous-marine is on your right.
Secure parking is available on site (advance booking is recommended). The parking reservation is valid for one vehicle and only for the duration of the exhibition. The parking area closes every evening, please feel free to ask our security staff for Learn more on the day of your visit.
⚠️ Non-stabilized parking lot, presence of degraded areas.
A free municipal parking area is also available in front of the submarine base, subject to availability.
By public transport
- From downtown (Quinconces stop)
Tram C à Ravezies stop (toward Blanquefort or Parc des Expositions)
Then bus no. 9 à Base Sous-Marine stop (toward Brandenburg) - From downtown (Tourny stop – just above Quinconces)
Bus no. 5 à Bassins à Flot stop (toward Bassins à Flot) - From Saint Jean Train Station
Tram C à Ravezies stop (toward Blanquefort or Parc des Expositions)
Then bus no. 9 à Base Sous-Marine stop (toward Brandenburg)
By Hop On Hop Off shuttle
Take a double-decker bus to the Bassins des Lumières and enjoy a 360° tour of Bordeaux with the Hop On Hop Off shuttle. Hop on and off at any of the 10 stops and explore the city at your own pace.
Stop no. 10: Base Sous-Marine (departures from Quinconces every hour between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., boarding and alighting possible at each stop).
Audio-guided tour in 8 languages, with special commentary for children.
A venue accessible to everyone
The Bassins des Lumières are accessible to visitors in wheelchairs.
Buggies
Buggies are allowed but we advise you to bring a baby carrier.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in the art centre (with the exception of guide dogs for the blind persons on presentation of proof).
Sensitivities and precautions
The programme in the Bassins des Lumières may present risks for people with epilepsy and photosensitivity and is not recommended for children under 2 years old.
