The Bassins des Lumières provides a range of support services to ensure that deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors can fully enjoy the immersive experience.
How to get to the Bassins des Lumières
By public transport
You can call the TBM network services from a computer, smartphone or tablet to help you plan your trip. You will be put in contact with an advisor in French Sign Language (LSF), Real-Time Speech Transcription (TTRP) or Cued French (LPC) depending on your preference.
Visual announcements on board the buses indicate the next stop.
By Hop-On Hop-Off Shuttle
For people with hearing impairments:
- The “Kiosque” sales point on Allées de Tourny is fitted with a magnetic hearing loop that amplifies sound.
- For the Bordeaux Visiotour visit, a written version of the audio commentaries is available.
- Hearing‑aid compatible headsets are provided on board the buses.
Visiting the Bassins des Lumières
A range of accessibility services is available to make the experience accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors.
- Assistance dogs are permitted. Please make sure that your dog is wearing a harness or vest that clearly identifies its role. You do not need to register your assistance dog prior to your visit.
- A magnetic induction loop is available at the ticket office.
- Writing slates are also available at the ticket office.
- For narrated immersive experiences, surtitles are projected high on the walls of the Bassins des Lumières in French and English.
